Crowns and Bridges
A dental crown is a “cap” that covers an imperfect or damaged tooth, with the purpose of improving the tooth’s appearance and functionality. There are a variety of uses for crowns including:
- Protection of a decaying tooth or cracked tooth
- Restoring a fracture
- Restoring a tooth that is worn down
- Improving esthetics of a tooth
- Restoring a dental implant
- Restoring a tooth after a root canal
A dental bridge involves the use of multiple crowns and are a way to replace one or more missing teeth. Like crowns, bridges are purposely designed to mimic your natural tooth appearance and function. Bridges are quite durable and usually patients will return to full function and a strong bite once a bridge is placed.
There are many different types of dental crowns and bridges. Dr. Savidan will help you choose the best material and design for you, based on the esthetic and functional result you want to achieve.
